About Us

TEKCO is a family business that was established in 2005 by two brothers to service the wine industry with quality packaging solutions. Today, more than 10 years later, TEKCO is the proud employers of more than 110 employees, with a manufacturing plant and sales office situated in Robertson in the Western Cape with another sales office in Cape Town. Although we still focus on the wine industry, our ever increasing product range also service other industries including fruit, olive & health.

TEKCO cares about the success of our clients and in our commitment to ensure your success, our promise to you is:

  • Superior and consistent quality products
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Reliable, on-time supply
  • The best possible price
  • Continuous innovation in terms of new materials, designs and overall packaging solutions
  • In the exceptional case of non-performance in any of the above (since the world unfortunately isn’t perfect), we promise to pull all of our available resources in order to assist you and deliver your order ASAP.

Our website serves as an overview and explanation of our extensive and diverse range of print, product and design options. We invite you to browse through these options, call us for a no-obligation quotation, or request that one of our experienced sales representatives visit you to find the perfect packaging solution to suit your needs.

We look forward to playing our part in growing your business.

TEKCO had the privilege of being part of this project in the Robertson Wine Valley as one of its sponsors, since its inception in 2013.

This year we are excited to once again be a sponsor of the Java MTB Challenge, taking place on 13 October. The Java MTB Challenge is a fun-filled sporting day for the entire family with breath-taking vineyard views. To date over R500,000.00 have been raised with this event for its local community. Beneficiaries for this year include Robertson Primary School, Robertson Preparatory School, Wakkerstroom-Wes Rural School, Jakes Gerwel Educational Trust School, Herberg Children’s Home and Bonnievale Vrybrugers.

TEKCO is a proud supporter of the Anna Foundation – an organisation who assist disadvantaged schools and communities by providing academic, social and environmental support.

The Anna Foundation aims to address the educational and social needs of rural school children and offer life-long learning to build positive self-worth, self-respect and core values.

This is achieved through their professionally designed “3 R’s Programme: Reading, Running and Right-ing” which is implemented in the afternoons and involves education, sports and life skills programmes (implemented through drama). The Anna Foundation also trains local farm women to implement the 3 R’s programme, giving them the skills needed in order to be confident in their roles as facilitators.

Especially since most of the current children being benefited by the Anna Foundation’s efforts are situated in the Langeberg region, where TEKCO is also based, it is our privilege to have supported Anna Foundation in 2015 and 2016 and we look forward to supporting them in future as well.

Our team flying the TEKCO flag high in their respective sport disciplines!

It is hard to imagine, but our team to have lives outside of boxes! Although many of us have hobbies which we are fanatic about, two members of our team deserve special mention:

Jack van Wyk, one of the sales representatives in our Cape Town office don’t just ride bicycle to get somewhere… he does it to get there FAST!

This is proven by some of his latest results:

  • 2015 PPA One Tonner (170km) – 12th out of 1242 riders with a time of 04:25:04
  • 2015 Stellenbosch Cycle Tour (101.6km) – 17th out of 3536 riders with a time of 02:20:13
  • 2016 Bouckaert-Soenen Road Race (126km) – 39th out of 494 riders with a time of 03:11:28
  • 2016 Tour de PPA (110km) – 10th out of 913 riders with a time of 02:48:14
  • 2016 Cape Town Cycle Tour (109km) – 76th out of 28 655 with a time of 02:40:25

Billy Botha, TEKCO’s factory manager, spends every free weekend in the water, doing free-diving spearfishing. The rest of the team jokes that he hides his gills well, since he can hold his breath for longer than 3 minutes – enough time to hunt fish of between 2 and 25kg! That is if the shark doesn’t steal the fish… or his spear gun (true story!).

From 9-16 April 2016 Billy took part in the National Spearfishing Championship after he ended up in the second position after all the provincial trials.

Poor weather conditions made it extremely difficult for the competition to go ahead since poor visibility below the surface can mean two things: Either one of the other competitors can mistake your leg for a fish and shoot it (OUCH!) or secondly… you may not see the shark approaching you, which is even worse.

So congratulations to the guys who had the home ground advantage. We are still super proud of Billy’s results and grateful that he still has both arms and legs!

As TEKCO, we strongly believe in supporting the clients who supports us. It is therefore our privilege to support numerous wine and lifestyle events in the form of in-kind sponsorship of TEKCO bins to be used for refuse over the festival period.

Festivals where you recently would have seen us:

  • Wacky Wine Weekend
  • Diemersfontein Pinotage on Tap
  • Durbanville Feast of the Grape
  • Robertson Wine on the River
  • Nuy Valley Festival
  • Pizza & Wine Festival @ Stellenbosch Vineyards
